About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Team Member to join our team at Margaret Green Animal Rescue. As Assistant Shop Manager, you will play a key role in the success of our charity shop in Winton, Bournemouth.

As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing stock, and maintaining a high level of visual merchandising standards. You will also be involved in the recruitment and training of volunteers, as well as contributing to the overall success of the shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers
  • Manage stock levels, including receiving, processing, and displaying stock
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, ensuring the shop looks appealing and inviting
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles
  • Contribute to the overall success of the shop, including achieving sales targets and maintaining a positive team culture
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably in a charity shop setting
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work with a diverse range of customers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and volunteers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and practices
