Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a rewarding opportunity to become a part of our dedicated therapy team as a part-time Rehabilitation Care Assistant.

This role is designed to assist in the provision of rehabilitation services to patients under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists within our inpatient medical wards. Our focus is on delivering ongoing therapeutic support to facilitate patient transitions to home or alternative care settings. The majority of our patients are elderly and require a compassionate and motivating approach to help them achieve their personal goals.

You will collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including nurses and general practitioners. The therapy service operates on Saturdays, and you will be expected to work approximately one Saturday every five weeks.

This position offers a commitment of 29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

- Implementing rehabilitation plans aimed at enhancing patient independence and supporting their discharge from the hospital, guided by qualified therapy staff. This includes physical exercise routines, functional activity training, and cognitive support interventions.

- Assisting patients with the necessary equipment to promote their autonomy.

- Supporting patients during their discharge process, which may involve home visits or assistance on the discharge day.

- Contributing to the daily operations of the therapy team.

- Collaborating effectively to achieve optimal outcomes for our patients.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Basic IT proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications
