About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager to join the SSAFA team in the South West of England Region.
You will be part of a regional office team, co-managing a group of Regional Casework Coordinators who provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers.
The role requires developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteer branch-based casework managers and supporting the casework administrators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post, you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office, working in a close team and line-managed by the Regional Operations Manager.
The post is home-based, but you may have to travel occasionally around the South West of England Region.
About the Team
The regional office is a virtual office that supports the eight SSAFA branches in the South West of England region.
The successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team, which includes 7 Regional Casework Coordinators and a Regional Operations Manager.
All team members are home-based, residing in the region.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, and managing and reporting on service delivery.
You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence.
Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.
You will have used Microsoft Office to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerized case management system.
The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous to have an understanding of the way of life for today's Armed Forces, veterans, and their families.
An understanding of the voluntary sector, and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West of England, would be valuable.
