Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Services Manager to join our Payroll Team in Retford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll processing for multiple payrolls, ensuring the smooth running of the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the payroll processing lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the training and development of the payroll team, guiding them in their roles.
  • Assist the Group Payroll Services Manager in assessing long-term payroll trends and developing strategies to address them.
  • Prepare and complete audits and reporting as required.
  • Liaise with high-level stakeholders and management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Handle and resolve payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee the annual P11D process and submissions to HMRC.
  • Analyse, process, and report on Gender Pay Gap.
  • Revise and maintain the team's Standing Operating Practices (SOPs) to ensure compliance with current legislation and HR policies.
  • Meet targets and contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Assist in compliance with all payroll financial and legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations.
  • Support the recruitment of team members, subject to agreed criteria.
  • Develop plans for team activities, including payroll strategy to achieve agreed targets and effective planning.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
  • At least 5 years' continuous experience working in a payroll function with end-to-end payroll lifecycles.
  • Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management.
  • Tupe/Integration experience.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Global experience is preferred.
  • Workday system knowledge is preferred.
