About the Role

Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team in the Haematology & Oncology Day Unit. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a small team of skilled SACT nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate exceptional clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's needs.
  • Autonomy and Decision Making: Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care, working directly with clinical leaders and gaining experience with new practices, equipment, and facilities.
  • Deliver High-Quality Care: Administer systemic anti-cancer therapy and supportive treatments, assist with Holistic Needs Assessments, and complete UKONS triage and assessments.
  • Emergency Response: Provide care for acute oncological and haematological emergencies, interacting with practitioners from other departments and educating patients in the management of their care.
  • Outpatient Clinics: Assist with outpatient consultant clinics, offering an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge within cancer care.
Requirements
  • NMC Registration: Be NMC registered and a qualified nurse.
  • UKONS SACT Passport: Have a UKONS SACT passport (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 6 months SACT administration experience.
  • Skills: Be proficient in phlebotomy, cannulation, and accessing Central Venous Access Devices, and competent in UKONS triage.
Desirable Qualifications
  • SACT Qualification: A qualification in SACT.
  • Advanced Communication Training: Advanced communication training.
