About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our nursing and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic care to patients attending the Emergency Department, including support with nutrition and hydration, personal care, and maintaining infection control.
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical and Nursing teams to deliver care and support patients and their families.
  • Complete accurate and concise documentation for every patient attendance.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Essential qualifications: ONC or NVQ / Internal Level 2 training programme, experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Desirable qualifications: Level 3 QCF diploma (Qualification Credit Framework) in healthcare / NVQ level 3, GCSE Maths & English grade C or above / Grade 4 - 9 OR Functional/Key skills level 2 numeracy and Functional/Key Skills level 2 literacy or willingness to complete.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
