Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for an Assistant Ward Leader within one of our acute care units at Priory Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver senior nursing guidance to the ward nursing team, supporting the Ward Leader.
  • Possess a level of clinical expertise and leadership that instills confidence in the nursing team and enhances the overall ward environment.
  • Assume specific delegated duties from the Ward Leader, ensuring dedicated time for Assistant Ward Leader responsibilities, along with supervisory roles for a designated group of staff.

Position Requirements

To excel as an Assistant Ward Leader, candidates should possess:

  • First level Registered Nurse (RMN)
  • Experience in clinical supervision is essential
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and leadership growth
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Experience in Acute Mental Health settings
  • A minimum of 3 years or equivalent post-registration experience
  • Mentorship experience is preferred, though training may be provided
