About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Agri-Science and Technology Lead and HE Lecturer at Askham Bryan College and University Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of agriculture and education, driving innovation and advancements in agricultural practices through technology, research, and sustainable methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Innovation: Develop and implement cutting-edge agricultural practices, leveraging technology and research to improve sustainability and efficiency.
  • Manage and Develop Curriculum: Oversee the development and delivery of higher education courses in agri-science and technology, ensuring they are relevant, engaging, and aligned with industry needs.
  • Foster Research Opportunities: Identify and pursue research projects that align with our mission, collaborating with industry partners and stakeholders to enhance learning and research opportunities.
  • Engage with Industry: Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners, stakeholders, and organizations to promote learning and research opportunities.
  • Inspire Students: Mentor and guide students, fostering a learning environment that prepares them for successful careers in agri-science.
Requirements

We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual with a strong background in agricultural science, technology, research, or education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven project management skills and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues.
  • Innovative thinking, with a track record of implementing new technologies or practices in agriculture.
  • A clear understanding of research concepts and data analysis, with the ability to apply these in agri-science and technology.
  • Qualifications: Educated to at least Level 6, but ideally a Master's or higher in Agricultural Science, Technology, or a related field. Experience in higher education is desirable.
