An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Smart Building Solutions Engineer to engage in a significant project.

This role entails the advanced design of integrated solutions for large-scale commercial projects, collaborating with various vendors and technology platforms.

The successful candidate will oversee both existing and new technologies, evaluating and introducing products that enhance the current offerings.

Responsibilities include the technical design and execution of solutions, serving as the primary technical liaison among clients, vendors, project managers, and implementation teams.

The daily responsibilities encompass:

  • Integration of diverse systems utilizing various protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, Dali, OPC) while advising system owners.
  • Cloud IoT configuration tasks across platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), including MQTT device setup and JSON payload organization.
  • Building modeling using standards such as BRICK, Haystack, and DBO, defining relationships between devices and assets.
  • Establishing Asset & Point naming conventions and ensuring compliance among system owners.
  • Validating data from system owners at the building network level and ensuring accurate cloud platform data publication.
  • Translating native system protocols to Cloud IoT protocols when necessary.
  • Collaborating with the software team to define requirements for an in-house dashboard utilized across multiple projects, including system page development and creation of FDD rules and energy efficiency calculations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in BMS commissioning (5+ years across multiple projects)
  • Proven background in BMS project/design engineering (5+ years across multiple projects)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and Building Control systems
  • Experience with various controller types, preferably Tridium Niagara
  • Basic knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP protocols
  • Familiarity with MQTT and IoT solutions
