The Admissions and Enrollment Specialist Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Admissions and Enrollment offices. This position is responsible for delivering information regarding the admissions process and assisting prospective students through various communication channels, including in-person interactions, phone inquiries, and email correspondence. The role involves guiding students on application procedures, class scheduling, and general inquiries related to academic records, grades, and enrollment verification.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and demonstrating a thorough understanding of admissions and enrollment processes.
- Assisting in resolving issues related to enrollment, academic records, and transcript requests.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date departmental resources, including college forms and publications.
- Processing official college documents, such as transcripts and enrollment verifications, using relevant systems.
- Participating in outreach initiatives to engage potential and current students.
- Advising on policies and procedures related to student services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Welcoming visitors and providing assistance at the welcome desk.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in problem-solving related to enrollment and academic records.
- Familiarity with student information systems.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of relevant educational policies and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Organizational skills for maintaining files and records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with document imaging systems.
- Background in admissions or enrollment services.
- Experience in student recruitment efforts.
- Familiarity with community college operations.
