Student Development Specialist

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly motivated and experienced Coordinator of Recruitment and Admissions to join our team. As a key member of our admissions staff, you will be responsible for facilitating the recruitment and admissions process for our undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in Social Work.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit prospective students for our academic programs through various channels, including in-person and virtual events.
- Coordinate the admissions process, working closely with program directors and faculty to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for applicants.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and engage prospective students.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of prospective, accepted, and enrolled students for each program.
- Assist with orientation activities for new and continuing students, ensuring a seamless transition into our academic programs.
- Monitor and analyze enrollment data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing recommendations for strategic growth and development.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to stay informed about departmental initiatives and goals.
- Promote student development and academic achievement through various initiatives, including tutoring, mentoring, and support services.
- Masters degree in Social Work or a related field from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Minimum of three years of post-master's practice experience in a social service agency or higher education setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in technology programs, including Excel, Facebook, Instagram, Teams, and Zoom.
- Teaching experience at the community college, college, or university level.
- Experience with student development and programming, particularly working with first-generation students.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Teaching experience in the undergraduate social work program.
