We are currently collaborating with a prominent facilities management and maintenance organization, in search of a skilled and certified commercial heating engineer.

This position is primarily mobile, covering two commercial sites in the Crawley area.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in commercial settings, performing comprehensive commercial heating maintenance and minor repair tasks.

As a Heating Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and executing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on Commercial/Industrial heating systems, as well as completing inspection and safety certification tasks.


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is conducted according to task schedules, frequencies, and industry best practices.
  • Identify any defects discovered and provide a list of required parts along with estimated timelines for completion.
  • Ensure that heating systems are transported and handled in compliance with current Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all colleagues and clients.
  • Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance, and operational planning duties, working with various systems and reporting as necessary.
  • Likely to be involved with equipment such as small-scale plant rooms, centralized heating systems, gas heaters, etc.
  • Expected to visit client premises (commercial) to install, service, and repair heating systems that have malfunctioned.
  • Assessing, dismantling, repairing, or replacing relevant components.
  • Support the field service team and uphold various internal operational processes.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Domestic Gas Qualifications
  • Desirable: Commercial Tickets
  • Highly Desirable: Commercial Catering Tickets
  • Experience in commercial environments
  • Valid driving license
  • IPAF & PASMA certifications
  • OFTEC certification is desirable
  • Multiskilled experience in minor electrical and fabric tasks
