Job Overview

As a Residential Support Specialist, your primary role will be to offer guidance, assistance, and resources to individuals and families navigating the journey to stable housing. Our service operates around the clock, ensuring that support is available at all times. You will be responsible for maintaining designated living spaces in a clean and welcoming condition for incoming clients. Regular communication with the public will be part of your duties, particularly through our helpline.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver compassionate and understanding support to those residing in temporary housing.
- Develop and assess support plans and risk evaluations, documenting all interactions in relevant digital systems to track client progress and service effectiveness.
- Handle urgent accommodation requests that may arise outside of standard hours.
- Adhere to regulatory standards set by relevant oversight bodies.
- Provide clear and accurate information to callers, ensuring they feel heard and supported.

Candidate Profile

- Proven experience working with at-risk populations or individuals facing complex challenges.
- Strong understanding of housing policies and homelessness issues.
- Experience in record-keeping and data management.

- Proficiency in digital tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Possession of or willingness to pursue a qualification in Health and Social Care.

- Knowledge of care standards and registration requirements to ensure compliance within a specified timeframe.
- A proactive approach to tasks, meeting quality and performance expectations.
- Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to formulate and evaluate support plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when engaging with vulnerable individuals.

- Capacity to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Flexibility to work shifts as needed to support service demands.

- Capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving items as necessary.
