JOB TITLE: Cleaning Operative

LOCATION: NATIONAL GALLERIES, Scotland

PAY RATE: £11.44 per hour

WORKING HOURS: 32 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERN: Sun, 6am – 5pm, Mon – Thur 6am – 11am & Thur - 5pm 9pm

OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of facilities for a prestigious client. This includes the upkeep of washrooms, kitchens, carpets, and surrounding areas.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing regular cleaning tasks such as vacuuming and mopping, as well as sanitizing washrooms and kitchens.
  • Conducting deep cleaning as necessary, utilizing buffers and carpet cleaning equipment – training will be provided.
  • Ensuring that the premises are consistently safe and hygienic.
  • Managing waste removal, restocking consumables, and addressing immediate cleaning needs (e.g., spillages).
  • Providing excellent customer service while collaborating with the client and their staff.

  • Must present a professional appearance and possess strong communication skills.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and be approachable.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in cleaning is preferred, especially in unsupervised roles with an ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong customer service and leadership capabilities.
  • Problem-solving and effective time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to adhere to schedules and work independently.
  • A flexible and proactive approach is crucial.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Must embody ABM values by being presentable, uniformed, and helpful at all times.
  • Commitment to following company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe and well-maintained work environment and equipment.
  • Identify and rectify any hazardous conditions.
