Job Overview Take the lead in the cleaning operations at esteemed educational facilities.
As the Educational Facilities Cleaning Supervisor, you will be tasked with establishing cleaning protocols, overseeing cleaning staff, and ensuring compliance with quality benchmarks. By managing contract adherence, performing inspections, and enforcing safety regulations, you will play a vital role in maintaining a pristine and healthy environment for learning. This position provides a remarkable opportunity to significantly influence the atmosphere conducive to education and development.
By leading a team of 20 personnel and upholding exceptional standards, you will directly contribute to fostering a clean and secure setting for both students and educators.
Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as this role requires availability for both daytime and evening shifts.
Sodexo and our partners are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults in regulated activities. This position mandates applicants to undergo appropriate screening, including checks with previous employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/or Disclosure Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules for the contract
  • Ensure risk assessments and safe operational procedures are established across all locations
  • Supervise the activities of cleaning staff to guarantee all areas meet the required cleanliness standards.
  • Collaborate with the General Services Manager to fill vacancies
  • Conduct cleaning inductions and ongoing development, including weekly team meetings and individual performance reviews.
  • Ensure contract compliance through monthly audits utilizing the Essence/Ecat tool and provide regular performance updates to the General Services Manager and clients.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations to foster a culture of safety awareness.
Qualifications:

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing and leading diverse teams
  • Familiarity with cleaning advancements and best practices
  • Background in standards-driven/compliance environments
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Experience in conducting audits and performing risk assessments
  • Client relationship and stakeholder management experience
  • Skills in influencing and negotiation

Desirable

  • Experience in contract/facilities management
  • IOSH/NEBOSH/FM certification
  • Qualification from the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS)
  • Experience with compliance audits from external auditors
