Job Description

Job Title: Pastoral Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastoral Manager to join our team at U-Educate. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the senior leadership team in managing student behaviour and providing high-quality pastoral care to students in secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Behaviour Management: Develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive student behaviour and reduce incidents of misbehaviour.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide high-quality pastoral care to students, including supporting students with emotional and social needs, and working with teachers to develop individualised support plans.
  • Collaboration with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to develop and implement behaviour management strategies, and provide support and guidance to teachers in managing challenging student behaviour.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support to students and teachers, including responding to incidents of misbehaviour and providing support to students in crisis.
  • Behaviour Management Strategies: Develop and implement behaviour management strategies, including restorative practices, positive reinforcement, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive the support they need, and collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students in a secondary school setting, including experience in behaviour management and pastoral care.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents, and experience in behaviour management and pastoral care.
  • DBS Check: Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Safeguarding Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training, or willingness to undertake training.
