Job Overview:


The primary objective of this role is to ensure the optimal functionality of all facilities and associated systems through effective maintenance strategies, including traditional methods, predictive analytics, and advanced building management techniques.


All equipment under the management of CBRE must be maintained to achieve peak operational efficiency while promptly addressing any reported issues or engineering requests.

As the Lead Engineer, you will be required to work five days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekend duties outside of standard hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety regulations and Permit to Work (PTW) protocols.

Maintain and oversee the mechanical and electrical systems of the buildings, ensuring all components are in excellent working order.


Conduct routine inspections, tests, and documentation for all building systems utilizing both traditional methods and advanced analytics.


Oversee water systems management and maintain records in compliance with L8 Legislation, collaborating with the designated Water Treatment Engineer.


Perform regular inspections of customer areas and mechanical rooms to identify and resolve any issues, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Coordinate and manage subcontractor services effectively.

Develop innovative strategies to enhance energy efficiency across building systems and infrastructure.


Address and document defects through the customer reporting system, leading a team to ensure timely resolution within service level agreements.

Engage with CBRE and customer stakeholders to provide updates on all relevant issues and progress.


Flexibility in work approach is essential, including a willingness to diversify skills and work overtime as needed.

Provide emergency call-out support on a pre-established schedule.

Utilize the CBRE Log Book System for maintaining all records and certifications for the site.


Manage defect resolution from initiation to completion, including investigation, material sourcing, quote provision, purchase order creation, and rectification arrangements.


Note:

Candidates will initially work Monday to Friday for training and site familiarization.


Decision-Making and Budget Management:
Make informed decisions while keeping the CBRE Supervisor and Engineering Manager updated.

Responsible for obtaining quotes for necessary spare parts.

Required Skills:
Strong technical aptitude.

Qualified as an Engineer (City & Guilds, HNC, etc.).

C&G 236 Parts 1 and 2 minimum for electrical bias.

Consideration for candidates with HV Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship experience.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Previous Authorised Person (AP) status is desirable.

Multi-skilled capabilities are advantageous.

Knowledge Requirements:
Technical and professional knowledge of building services systems and equipment.

Familiarity with advanced Building Management Systems (BMS), predictive maintenance, and analytics.

Understanding of critical services and their operational requirements.

Experience with condition-based and predictive maintenance methodologies is desirable.

Experience:

Experience in financial, insurance, investment banking, technology, manufacturing, or data center operations is required.

Experience in similar business-critical environments is desirable.

Background in building services or related fields is advantageous.

Shift patterns are divided among four teams.
