Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts Full time

Position Overview

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Building Management Systems Operations Specialist as part of a newly established in-house team, under the leadership of the Estates Operations Manager.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned BMS Engineer to significantly enhance our service delivery, optimize energy expenditures, and transition our Estates department from a reactive to a proactive operational model.

The Trust is in the process of implementing a state-of-the-art Schneider EcoStruxure BMS, with comprehensive training scheduled for all personnel in the near future.

Key Responsibilities

As a Building Management Systems Operations Specialist, you will embark on a three-month orientation period to familiarize yourself with existing systems and workflows. Building strong relationships with colleagues in estates and IT will be essential.

This position is hands-on, involving troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of the Trust's BMS infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with workshop personnel and Estates Engineers, providing support as necessary.

The team will be tasked with updating BMS system graphics, programming, trend analysis, and infrastructure to align with the strategic objectives of the broader department. While the team will operate from various locations, collaboration across the Trust's multiple sites will be required.

With the introduction of the Trust's new Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, you will also be responsible for compiling asset inventories for the BMS and maintaining these records in coordination with the Trust's asset management team. Given the critical nature of the BMS in managing life safety systems, this role carries significant responsibility, necessitating the ability to foster positive relationships with estates stakeholders, including clinical staff and patients.
