About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of chefs to deliver high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of chefs to achieve high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs of our residents
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes
  • Bake fresh cakes, scones, and breads from scratch
  • Assist the front-of-house team with setting up the dining areas
  • Work within budget and complete regular audits and stock control
  • Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment
  • Ongoing recruitment and retention of staff
  • Managing the performance of the kitchen team and front-of-house staff

About Our Team

Our chefs have full autonomy in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, while also taking ownership of their kitchen and ongoing team development.

We are exceptionally proud of our Barchester Chef Academy, where chefs have the opportunity to learn new techniques and further develop their skills, while also sharing their knowledge to support the growth of others across the business.

Our internal Learning and Development team also offers industry-recognized apprenticeships and further qualifications to chefs and hospitality team members who are looking to build upon and/or develop their skills.
