Lead Our IT External Audit Practice in the Banking Sector

As a leader within our national IT external audit practice, you will be responsible for guiding our team, ensuring exceptional quality, and developing our IT capabilities. Client satisfaction and collaboration with our financial audit practice are paramount. You'll need to possess excellent communication skills, a strong risk mindset, a commitment to timely delivery, effective stakeholder management, and a dedication to audit quality and the development of our team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of external IT audit engagements focused on the banking sector.
  • Demonstrate expertise in an IT controls-based audit approach, including IT General Controls, application controls, and IPE testing.
  • Possess experience with ERP applications such as SAP or Oracle, and standard packages like Agresso, Microsoft Dynamics, and Sage.
  • Have a strong understanding of operating systems (Unix, Windows Server, Linux) and databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience in delivering audit analytics within projects is highly advantageous.
  • Deliver work to the highest technical standards, ensuring compliance with Forvis Mazars Quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, addressing any issues or requests promptly.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with senior stakeholders within Forvis Mazars.
  • Act as a role model, mentoring and developing members of the IT External Audit team.
  • Demonstrate a broad perspective on potential challenges when managing diverse teams and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Understand the wider service line capabilities of Technology & Digital Services and the firm's overall offerings, identifying how these can benefit clients.
  • Contribute to and manage a team, overseeing their performance, training, and development needs.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience providing IT assurance to clients across relevant sectors.
  • Extensive experience with ERP applications such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification, such as CISA / QiCA / ACCA / MIIA / CIPFA.
  • Possess a sound technical understanding of IT risks and current industry trends.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients and a team of staff, including Managers.
  • Proven ability to develop junior staff and mentor team members.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo, and deliver work effectively.
  • Strong technical abilities in audit methodologies, combined with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated through extensive report/proposal writing experience.
  • A desire to contribute to the growth and development of the department.
  • Experience identifying issues through sound technical analysis and applying commercial acumen in all situations.
  • Ability to express ideas with authority and conviction throughout verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with the Technology & Digital Services landscape is beneficial.
