Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at a Liverpool secondary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department and ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with managers to produce job descriptions, person specifications, and adverts
  • Support managers with interview techniques and the interview process
  • Assist in the induction process for all new staff
  • Liaise with managers in the correct operation of the probationary period policy
  • Develop and advise on the appraisal process
  • Advise and assist managers with disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Monitor individual sickness absence and conduct sickness absence reviews
  • Provide assistance and support to staff around employment policies
  • Assist with the development of certain policies to ensure they are up to date and fit for purpose
  • Complete payroll administration as required
  • Manage the recruitment process, including facilitating interview days and collating interview packs
  • Facilitate the absence management process by logging absences on the calendar and SIMs
  • Maintain staff records and ensure confidentiality
  • Provide reports as required by the Principal in relation to absence, contracts, and recruitment
  • Ensure all information on SIMs is accurate and up to date for the Schools Workforce Census
  • Ensure consistent implementation of all HR policies and processes
  • Maintain an effective filing system
  • Responsibility for all HR-related administration
  • Regularly update and maintain the Single Central Register
  • Arrange and minute meetings as required
Requirements:
  • HR background
  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN EDUCATION OR SCHOOL SETTING
  • Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake a new one
  • Full and complete 10-year career history
  • Minimum of 2 references, including your most recent employment reference
  • Legal right to work in the UK
