Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the poetry group to community members.
  • Collaborate with participants to select poems for discussion.
  • Read selected poems aloud to the group and initiate engaging discussions with prepared questions.
  • Utilize IT equipment effectively, including searching for poetry online, printing materials, and connecting audio devices.
  • Prepare the venue by arranging furniture and setting up necessary equipment.
  • Provide refreshments for group members.
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere while adhering to Creative Support's policies on boundaries and safeguarding.
  • Report any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Participate in regular supervision sessions and complete all required training.

As a volunteer with Creative Support, you will receive comprehensive training for your role, access to a dedicated volunteer supervisor, and the opportunity to engage with a supportive community through a monthly newsletter and online peer support group. Together, we can create a meaningful impact.

Time Commitment: Every Thursday from 10:30 AM to 1 PM.
