They will also respond to emergency breakdown callouts, install and fit out lifts, and demonstrate new equipment to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine checks and maintenance tasks to ensure lifts are in good working order.
  • Identify and repair problems with lifts, including electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Respond to emergency breakdown callouts and provide timely repairs.
  • Install and fit out new lifts, including lifting gear and lift wells.
  • Demonstrate new equipment to clients and provide training on its use.
  • Refurbish or replace lift interiors, flooring, panel displays, communication systems, buttons, and lighting.
  • Update written and computerised work records to ensure accurate tracking of maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure equipment meets health and safety regulations and produce risk assessment reports as required.
  • Manage responsibilities of allocated vehicle, including service dates and insurance renewal dates.
Skills and Knowledge:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (lift servicing)
  • Ability to repair machines or systems
  • Knowledge of building and construction
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work methodically
  • Ability to use, repair, and maintain machines and tools
  • Knowledge of public safety and security
  • Flexibility, persistence, resilience, and determination
  • Ability to use a computer and main software packages competently
