We are seeking a skilled Lift Engineer- Service to join our team at Apex Lift & Escalators Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine checks, isolating problems, and performing repairs to meet PPM requirements. They will also respond to emergency breakdown callouts, install and fit out lifts, and demonstrate new equipment to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine checks and maintenance tasks to ensure lifts are in good working order.
- Identify and repair problems with lifts, including electrical and mechanical issues.
- Respond to emergency breakdown callouts and provide timely repairs.
- Install and fit out new lifts, including lifting gear and lift wells.
- Demonstrate new equipment to clients and provide training on its use.
- Refurbish or replace lift interiors, flooring, panel displays, communication systems, buttons, and lighting.
- Update written and computerised work records to ensure accurate tracking of maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure equipment meets health and safety regulations and produce risk assessment reports as required.
- Manage responsibilities of allocated vehicle, including service dates and insurance renewal dates.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (lift servicing)
- Ability to repair machines or systems
- Knowledge of building and construction
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work methodically
- Ability to use, repair, and maintain machines and tools
- Knowledge of public safety and security
- Flexibility, persistence, resilience, and determination
- Ability to use a computer and main software packages competently
