We are a 4-partner practice with over 8,000 patients in East Lancashire, with big achievements and even bigger ambitions. We are an established training and research practice who work closely with our PCN colleagues, but we are keen to develop our practice further to support the local population.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be to oversee the smooth running of the practice. We have several teams which it will be your role to oversee and motivate to ensure we deliver optimum patient care.

About the Role

We are looking for someone to work with us and help oversee the team as we develop and tackle new challenges. We are forward-thinking and recognise the need for primary care to adapt while providing excellent clinical care to our community.

Key Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day running of the practice with the assistance of our management team
  • Ensure the practice is compliant with any NHS, Information Governance, CQC, or statutory requirements
  • Oversee staff training with the assistance of team leaders
  • Work alongside our team to ensure patients receive the highest quality care
  • Ensure the team achieves targets such as QOF, Lancashire GP contract
  • Implement changes as general practice is required to adapt
  • Responsibility for recruitment and HR management
  • Work with practice team to co-ordinate key meetings and ensure minutes and actions are completed
  • Work with practice staff to manage complaints
  • Oversee patient participation group meetings
  • Oversee holiday requests and rotas with line manager assistance
  • Responsibility for practice health and safety
  • Optimise practice financial opportunities
  • Assist our accountant and finance team as appropriate

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Experience of working with a busy team to deliver high-quality care
  • Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development, and disciplinary procedures
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects

Skills

  • Organised and ability to prioritise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Office computer software, including Teams
  • Able to adapt and manage change
