Job Title: Senior NPD Technologist

Reports to: NPD Manager

Job Purpose: As a Senior NPD Technologist, you will take charge of creating innovative and high-quality food products from initial concept through to market introduction. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Marketing, Operations, Procurement, and Quality Assurance, to ensure that new offerings align with market needs, regulatory standards, and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development:

• Spearhead the creation of new products, guiding them from ideation to commercialization.

• Perform market analysis and trend assessments to pinpoint new product possibilities.

• Establish and oversee product development schedules to guarantee timely project completion.

2. Recipe Formulation:

• Formulate and enhance recipes, ensuring they fulfill nutritional, sensory, and cost criteria.

• Conduct kitchen and pilot plant trials to evaluate new formulations and methodologies.

• Ensure compliance of all products with regulatory and company standards.

3. Project Management:

• Oversee multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

• Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project results.

• Prepare and deliver project updates and reports to senior management.

4. Technical Support:

• Offer technical assistance to production teams during product launches.

• Resolve issues related to product formulation, processing, and packaging.

• Collaborate with suppliers to source new ingredients and materials.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for process enhancements and cost reductions.

• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.

• Mentor and support junior NPD technologists and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, ingredient functionality, and food processing methods.
  • Excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and product development software.

  • Flexibility to work varying hours as necessary to meet project timelines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier interactions, conferences, and production trials.
