As the UK's foremost homewares retailer, we are dedicated to our brand, our responsibilities as a company, and our commitment to sustainable growth.

We are evolving into a digitally-driven, customer-centric organization that aims to exceed customer expectations. With a workforce of over 11,000, a state-of-the-art multichannel operation, and 178 retail locations, Dunelm is set on a path to significantly increase its market presence.

Core Finance is integral to our organization, representing a diverse and vibrant ecosystem of financial knowledge and innovation. Our department encompasses a wide range of roles, including Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), Financial Reporting, Taxation, Process & Change Management, Enterprise Risk, Treasury, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Reporting, making it a hub of opportunities for finance professionals eager to influence the future of finance.

Our team members excel in a collaborative atmosphere, where every position plays a vital role in shaping the financial framework of our company. The structure of our department promotes an exciting mix of traditional finance functions alongside emerging fields such as ESG, making it an ideal environment for those keen to explore various finance roles. By working closely with other departments, we ensure not only the financial stability of Dunelm but also advocate for the integration of financial processes into critical priority areas.

The group tax function is responsible for the organization's approach to all tax matters, including tax strategy, risk management, and compliance. Key responsibilities include corporation tax compliance and disclosures, R&D claims, VAT, and employment tax compliance, while providing guidance to various business areas such as Payroll, Tech, Customs, and Finance.

Reporting to the Group Tax Senior Manager, the Indirect Tax Accountant position is crucial for overseeing the daily management of the Group's VAT responsibilities. Effective cross-functional collaboration and a willingness to enhance processes in line with HMRC's Making Tax Digital requirements are vital for success in this role.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who share our entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on work ethic. Our commitment lies in fostering an inclusive environment that reflects our customer base and locations. We recognize the importance of inclusion and diversity and encourage applications from all candidates, regardless of sex, age, race, religion, disability, neuro-diversity, gender or sexual identity, socio-economic background, or education.
