The group tax function spearheads the organization’s approach to all tax matters, including strategy, risk management, and compliance. Key responsibilities encompass corporation tax compliance and disclosures, R&D claims, VAT, and employment tax compliance, as well as providing guidance to various business sectors including Payroll, Technology, Customs, and Finance.
Reporting to the Group Tax Senior Manager, the Indirect Tax Accountant position is crucial for overseeing the daily management of the Group's VAT obligations. A significant aspect of this role involves preparing quarterly VAT returns for the primary trading entity, ensuring accurate setup of new articles, drafting documents on new legislation, conducting duty reconciliations, and addressing ad hoc VAT inquiries. Success in this role requires effective cross-functional collaboration and a proactive approach to enhancing processes in accordance with HMRC's Making Tax Digital initiatives.
