We are currently seeking a dedicated Lead Civil and Structural Engineer for our team, who will be responsible for:

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering and hold chartered status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience in Civil and Structural engineering within a Process Design environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity as Area Lead.
  • Proficiency in the following areas is essential:
  • Designing foundations, both shallow and deep, for various structures, including dynamic equipment and static installations.
  • Structural design of steel frameworks, such as piperacks and compressor facilities.
  • Basic understanding of geotechnical principles to facilitate discussions with specialists.
  • Ability to estimate timelines for civil and structural tasks to aid project scheduling.
  • Designing modular structures, including piping modules and equipment skids.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software, such as STAAD-Pro.
  • Knowledge of international design standards, including AISC, IBC, ASCE, and Eurocodes.

Responsibilities

Assist the Civil/Structural Manager in departmental activities. Collaborate with the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to manage the civil and structural scope, either by leading an in-house team or coordinating with external design partners. Contribute to the development of design criteria for civil and structural projects. Provide oversight for 'design and build' contracts for non-process facilities, such as administrative and maintenance buildings. Support the department in adhering to national codes and updating internal standards. Leverage experience to enhance value engineering processes by proposing cost-effective design solutions. Participate in project proposals, including estimating labor and material costs.
