About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solicitor to lead our Legal and Resolution team. As Head of Legal, Resolution and PALS, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the team to ensure a high-functioning and effective legal and complaints service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Legal and Resolution team to deliver a high-quality legal and complaints service.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with local and national policy procedures.
  • Handle complex or contentious complaints, claims, and inquests.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualified and practicing solicitor with post-qualification experience of managing a substantial case load of high-value legal claims and/or complex inquest matters.
  • Educated to postgraduate/master's level or equivalent by experience.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
  • Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of healthcare law, clinical negligence, Coronial law, and personal injury law.
  • Knowledge and understanding of serious incidents and complaints framework in the NHS, including PHSO requirements.
