About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at ENODA, a leading innovator in energy platforms. As a Laboratory Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory, maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Laboratory Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the laboratory, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and that all laboratory users and visitors adhere to safety and compliance protocols.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Develop and implement procedures to ensure the laboratory meets all relevant safety and compliance standards, including COSHH regulations and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Manage Laboratory Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain laboratory equipment, establish calibration schedules, and ensure that all equipment is properly calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Develop and Implement Procedures: Review and approve work instructions, standard operating procedures, and other controlled documentation for the laboratory and associated activities.
  • Represent the Laboratory: Represent the laboratory operations during regulatory and customer visits, providing technical expertise and ensuring that the laboratory is presented in a professional manner.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Promote and lead a culture of continuous improvement within the laboratory, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Line Manage the Laboratory Team: Line manage the laboratory team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure that the team is equipped to meet the demands of the role.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor, ideally with a manufacturing or management background.
  • Line Management Experience: Experience of line managing a team, with a proven track record of developing and motivating staff.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Working knowledge of relevant standards, including ISO 9001:2015, and experience of implementing and maintaining compliance with these standards.
  • Administration and Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages, with experience of administration and technical skills, including calibration and testing of equipment.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
