Industrialisation R&D Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Industrialisation R&D Manager to join our team at Fox's Burton's Companies. As a pivotal member of our packaging team, you will play a key role in launching and supporting new packaging formats across our diverse range of products and bakeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Packaging Managers for Retail Brands & Private Labels and the TPM to ensure the packaging program is achievable, with critical paths set according to the Packaging Development Process and Packaging Playbook.
- Introduce best practices and ensure the Packaging team follows consistent protocols and approval processes across all bakeries.
- Assist in short, mid, and long-term packaging developments, from concept through to commercialization, focusing on immediate and near-term projects (Now, Next, Future).
- Develop packaging that meets our standards for quality, functionality, cost-effectiveness, consumer acceptance, stability, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and operational feasibility.
- Oversee the completion of technical packaging documents for new products and processes, including raw materials, production line layouts, and finished product specifications.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key business partners, ensuring leadership and alignment on critical projects.
- Support the SPT, PT, and JPT with packaging trials, leading key future projects to market, ensuring all packaging is compliant and future-proof.
- Provide monthly reports on trials, transit testing, and project delivery, and investigate any issues affecting wider capabilities.
- Support capacity assist projects and large capital initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in a Packaging, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Significant experience in a packaging role within an FMCG environment, with a proven ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Cape, and Apple systems.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects to market.
