Following the successful Hinkley Point C (HPC) project, SZC is a nuclear new build undertaking in Suffolk, having secured planning approval and government financing. This project is now under construction and is actively pursuing private investment. Upon completion, it will supply reliable electricity to 6 million households for 60 years, complementing renewable energy efforts to help the UK achieve Net Zero by 2050.

Position Summary
In the role of Senior Nuclear Compliance Manager, you will oversee and manage all facets of nuclear compliance for the Sizewell C project. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure adherence to all relevant nuclear regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards. This position demands a profound understanding of nuclear legislation, exceptional leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and sustain a thorough nuclear compliance framework for Sizewell C.
- Ensure alignment with all nuclear regulatory mandates, including those established by the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and the Environment Agency.
- Lead and mentor the compliance team, offering guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations to assess compliance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory expectations.
- Provide expert counsel on nuclear compliance issues to senior leadership and project teams.
- Prepare and submit compliance documentation to regulatory bodies as required.
- Investigate and address any compliance-related issues or incidents, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Stay informed about changes in nuclear regulations and industry standards, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nuclear regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Proven track record in leading and managing compliance teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High level of integrity and commitment to safety and compliance.
