About the Role:

At Two Saints, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered support to individuals accessing our mental health crisis intervention service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and provide support to individuals in crisis, working collaboratively with them to develop and implement personalized plans to reduce crisis and promote recovery.
  • Record and maintain accurate and detailed client records, ensuring risk assessments and safety plans are up-to-date and effective.
  • De-escalate difficult situations, adhering to lone working and safeguarding policies, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of partner agencies and additional services to support individuals in the community to manage their mental health.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and welcoming environment, identifying and minimizing potential risks to users and the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide comprehensive support, using initiative to escalate to appropriate services when required.
  • Attend supervision, appraisal, training, and meetings as directed, which may involve working outside of normal hours.
  • Work flexibly across all areas of operation, as required, and prior notice given.

Requirements:

  • Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills.
  • Polite, assertive manner, with the ability to self-motivate.
  • Passion for working in a client-facing role.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health First Aid.
  • Interest and genuine concern for mental health, homelessness, and related issues.
  • Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies.
