We are committed to providing compassionate and effective support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals navigate crisis situations and develop coping mechanisms.

About the Role:

  • Provide person-centered support to adults with mental health diagnoses during evenings and weekends.
  • Conduct assessments, record client information, and maintain accurate records, including risk assessments and safety plans.
  • De-escalate challenging situations effectively while adhering to all safeguarding policies.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of partner agencies and community resources to effectively signpost clients.
  • Contribute to a welcoming and safe environment by identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the team, utilize your initiative, and escalate situations as needed.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for working within a mental health service setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT and keyboard skills.
  • A polite and assertive demeanor with the ability to self-motivate.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health First Aid.
  • An understanding of voluntary and statutory agencies.
