Job Description

Job Summary

The Midlothian Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of Wellbeing to join our Enhanced Nurture Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with a range of needs to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Principal Teacher of Nurture, other Teachers of Wellbeing, and youth workers to deliver high-quality educational programs.
  • Develop and implement nurturing principles and inclusive practices to support students with diverse needs.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, promoting their emotional, social, and academic well-being.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and third-sector partners to provide additional services and resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum pathways that cater to students' diverse needs.

Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS).
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Registration with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, and the successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children.
