About the Role

The House of Commons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Compliance Specialist to join its Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory maintenance regulations, as well as acting as the Responsible Person for Legionella management and Deputy Responsible Person for asbestos management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor arrangements for effective Legionella Management, including managing the Parliamentary Legionella Management plan and ensuring current operational practices reflect current Legislation and guidance.
  • Assist with the management of estate-wide confined spaces and roof access management plans, ensuring appropriate safe working practices are in place.
  • Carry out monthly audits to ensure all statutory maintenance is identified and recorded on PMST's work management system and monitored for 100% compliance, including investigation of escalation of non-compliances.

Requirements

  • Legionella Management (BOHS P901, P903) or a specific City and Guilds relating to legionella management.
  • Asbestos Management (BOHS P405, S301, W504, P407, D407)
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of building services related to statutory legislation and its application and compliance regimes.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of managing asbestos and legionella issues in large buildings or estates.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate experience in managing contracts, including contract specification, procurement, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of people and adapt style and content to meet audience needs while upholding the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
