EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Have you previously held a position as a teaching aide or educational support specialist?

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with several key educational institutions to find dependable and committed educational support specialists for the upcoming academic term.

This role is full-time, so please apply only if you can fully commit.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience as a teaching aide or educational support specialist
  • Experience in a supportive role within a secondary education environment
  • Familiarity with working alongside students with special educational needs
  • Recognize the significance of individualized support and small group interventions to enhance the learning and development of students who may struggle with the standard curriculum
  • Serve as a positive role model, consistently encouraging students through affirmative reinforcement
  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and senior staff to foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere, allowing each student the chance to thrive and succeed
  • Communicate proficiently with students, staff, and families
  • Adhere to the institution's values, principles, and policies at all times
  • Prioritize safeguarding in all actions and be knowledgeable about how to appropriately escalate safeguarding issues

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • Experience in a similar capacity or working with children/young individuals
  • Enhanced child-only DBS on update service (support available for application process)
  • Professional demeanor and friendly disposition
  • Organized, dependable, and adaptable—capable of adjusting to changes at short notice
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

All quoted pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
