Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated Regional Response Team (RRT) Technicians to join our team, primarily working night shifts. In this role, you will receive instructions from the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring that work orders are executed efficiently and meet the highest quality standards. Safety is paramount, and you will adhere to site regulations and permitting requirements, representing Colas with professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities

As an RRT Technician, your main duties will include:

  • Executing temporary defect repairs while prioritizing safety.
  • Implementing safe working methods across all tasks.
  • Understanding and adhering to procedures related to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
  • Following guidelines concerning Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) regulations.
  • Driving in compliance with The Road Traffic Act.
  • Operating machinery as directed by your Supervisor.
  • Installing and removing Traffic Management as necessary.
  • Working a schedule of four days on and four days off, including both day and night shifts, as well as bank holidays.
  • Ensuring all operations prioritize the safety of visitors, colleagues, and yourself.
  • Conducting all activities with a focus on environmental responsibility, complying with legal and corporate standards to minimize impact.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a flexible and hardworking individual with experience in a similar highway maintenance environment, possessing C1E driving qualifications. You should be enthusiastic and capable of working effectively within a small team with minimal supervision. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, and an HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you have a strong background in Traffic Management. Good physical health is necessary, as the role can be physically demanding. Additional qualifications such as DCPC and Traffic Management TTMBC are desirable.
