Role OverviewWe are seeking dedicated Regional Response Team (RRT) Technicians to join our team, primarily working night shifts. You will be responsible for executing tasks as directed by the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring that work orders are completed punctually and meet the required quality standards. Safety is paramount, and you will adhere to site regulations and permitting protocols, always representing Colas with professionalism.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an RRT Technician, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting temporary defect repairs safely.
- Implementing safe working methods for all tasks.
- Understanding and adhering to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Following procedures related to Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) regulations.
- Driving in compliance with The Road Traffic Act.
- Operating machinery as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Installing and removing Traffic Management as necessary.
- Maintaining availability for a four-day on, four-day off schedule, including both day and night shifts, as well as bank holidays.
- Ensuring all operations are conducted with full consideration for the safety of visitors, colleagues, and yourself.
- Complying with environmental regulations to minimize pollution and adhere to legal and corporate standards.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible and hardworking individual with experience in a similar highway maintenance role and possess C1E driving qualifications. You should be enthusiastic and capable of working effectively within a small team with minimal supervision. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, and an HGV Class 2 Licence is required unless you have a strong background in Traffic Management. Good physical health is necessary, as the role can be physically demanding. Additional qualifications such as DCPC and Traffic Management TTMBC are desirable.
