Overview of the Role

Binnies, a member of the RSK Group, is seeking a Lead Manager for Pre-Construction Projects to enhance our @one Alliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Lead Manager for Pre-Construction, you will spearhead the development of innovative solutions for a substantial portfolio of water recycling initiatives, valued at approximately £550M, within the eastern Anglian region. Your role will be pivotal in achieving our capital investment objectives and overarching business goals.

Solutions Stage Management

  • Comprehend the strategic objectives of Anglian Water and the @one alliance.
  • Cultivate and sustain collaborative partnerships with Anglian Water's ADP and @one project teams.
  • Assist ADP in formulating a sustainable project release schedule.
  • Design an effective strategy for solutions development.
  • Oversee Solutions Stage Project Plans to ensure compliance with @one Solutions Stage standards.
  • Generate monthly performance reports.
  • Engage with stakeholders to address challenges and eliminate obstacles.
  • Lead escalation processes when preferred solutions fall short of objectives.

Development of Solutions

  • Analyze and question Anglian Water's business outcomes and obligations for each project.
  • Facilitate investigations and data analysis to identify root causes.
  • Drive collaboration among @one project delivery teams to formulate feasible solutions, taking into account:
    • Cost evaluations
    • Data analysis and technical considerations
    • Programme assessments
    • Sustainability and carbon reduction strategies
    • Safety and buildability
    • Planning and customer constraints
    • Long-lead items and supplier contributions
    • Legacy and compliance risks
  • Ensure that TOTEX, Benefits Realisation, and Six Capitals are integral to solution selection.
  • Aid in the evaluation of preferred solutions for review meetings.

Health & Safety Commitment

  • Advocate for excellence in Health and Safety throughout the solution development process.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to create design risk assessments.

Team Development

  • Provide strong and consistent leadership, fostering an inclusive and positive work environment.
  • Mentor and guide members of the Solutions Team.

Transformation Initiatives

  • Encourage innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce carbon footprints and enhance natural capital in line with PAS 2080 principles.
  • Strive for ongoing enhancements in the solutions process and team productivity.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective leadership in team management, including successful performance oversight. You will uphold consistent quality standards, develop quality assurance procedures, and implement improvements. Experience in formulating and executing strategies to mitigate risks and seize opportunities across multiple projects is essential.

You should exhibit a respectful demeanor towards colleagues, fostering positive actions that enhance our reputation and integrity. Proficiency in addressing challenges, improving collaboration, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders is crucial. A degree in a relevant field and substantial experience in water-sector assets and capital project delivery are preferred.
