Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled High Power Radio Frequency (HPRF) engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a HPRF engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing next-generation HPRF systems for the Department of Defense (DoD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-powered, pulsed power-driven microwave systems
- Develop and implement test methodologies for laboratory and field testing
- Analyze test data and results to inform system design and development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HPRF systems with other systems and technologies
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in HPRF engineering, including design, development, and testing of high-powered microwave systems
- Experience with digital and analog control systems, power electronics, EMI mitigation techniques, transformer design, DC-to-DC converters, and high-voltage capacitors
- Experience with RF and microwave signal generation and test equipment, vacuum devices, tubes, radars, HPRF systems, and digital signal processing
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with high voltage, high peak power spark-gaps, high voltage power supplies, fast transient diagnostics, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic countermeasures (EMC) mitigation techniques
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering related to program development, modeling, or simulation
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
