Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at North West London Pathology. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing a professional clinical laboratory service, working effectively as a team member as part of the overall department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to providing a professional clinical laboratory service, working effectively as a team member as part of the overall department.
  • Perform core scientific work, which corresponds to the training and qualifications of a Healthcare Scientist Associate Practitioner.
  • Develop and improve your professional expertise.
  • Provide basic clinical technical services to patients that may include research and audit.
About the Role

The laboratory is covered for 24 hours seven days a week and the successful candidate would be expected to participate in the late/weekend shifts and contribute to the continuity and quality of care for patients in our hospitals. Staff are also expected to work across our six hospital sites when required.

Person Specification
  • 2nd class honours degree or equivalent in a biological science which is acceptable by Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma or equivalent in relevant discipline.
  • 24 months proven experience post Registration in the relevant discipline.
Requirements
  • Practical analytical skills associated with diagnostic laboratory work
  • Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to work under pressure
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a large busy laboratory
