About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN school in Bury. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including those with lower literacy levels, English as a second language, and Special Education Needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Educational Strategies: Assist in carrying out educational strategies that are tailored to each child's learning goals, promoting academic achievement and progress.
  • Building Relationships: Develop a connection of trust with every child, communicating effectively in a way that is easy for them to understand.
  • Fostering Inclusion: Encourage diversity, acceptance, and inclusion, ensuring all children have equal access to learning and growth opportunities.
  • Engaging Children: Encourage children's involvement and participation during lessons, promoting active learning and attention.
  • Developing Independence: Provide opportunities for children to develop their independence, promoting self-reliance and confidence.
  • Feedback and Progress Monitoring: Give children, parents, and caregivers feedback on their development, accomplishments, and potential issues, as directed by the teaching team.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum: Good understanding of the national curriculum and its application in a SEN setting.
  • Experience with SEN Pupils: Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and social emotional mental health needs.
  • Drive to Inspire: A drive to inspire and motivate the next generation of learners, promoting a love of learning and academic achievement.
  • Eligibility to Work in the UK: Eligibility to work in the UK, with an enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply.
