Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) team at Bury Council. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that pupils with SEN receive the necessary support.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support.
Requirements
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
