Housing Support Specialist

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Specialist to deliver exceptional housing and support services to residents within our Specialist Housing Schemes. This role emphasizes effective building management, tenancy oversight, and the promotion of independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Oversight: Manage daily operations, report maintenance issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Tenancy Oversight: Address anti-social behavior, manage rent arrears, conduct tenancy reviews, and facilitate new sign-ups.
- Resident Support: Evaluate resident needs, develop support plans, combat isolation, and assist with maintenance requests.
- Community Development: Encourage resident participation, support social initiatives, and cultivate a vibrant community atmosphere.
- Performance Monitoring: Keep accurate records, perform risk assessments, and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Collaborative Engagement: Partner with commissioners, care providers, and external organizations to enhance resident support.
- Financial Advisory: Provide guidance on benefits, manage property vacancies, and optimize lettings to reduce income loss.
- Contractual Relations: Foster relationships with local authorities, meet contractual obligations, and oversee performance metrics.
- Service Promotion: Advocate for services to potential clients and agencies, and provide support across various schemes.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in housing management, particularly within specialist or temporary accommodations.
- Familiarity with anti-social behavior protocols and rental income management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
- Resilience and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles in housing.
- Access to personal transportation for work-related duties.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., CIH) or a commitment to obtain it.
- Experience collaborating with external partners.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data management practices.
