Job Summary:

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Clinical Research Funding Specialist to join the Research Funding Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating, supporting, and contributing to the submission and award of externally funded research activity involving human participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively facilitate and support the submission and award of externally funded research activity, providing expert guidance on content and administrative structures.
  • Collaborate with researchers and local support staff to provide guidance on areas such as NHS protocols, funder requirements, contracting, eligibility, and more.
  • Work agilely across teams to support the delivery of business-critical objectives, such as key projects, major deadlines, and other time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Participate in matrix management and contribute to the development of business-critical objectives.

Requirements:

  • Process-driven, with great attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the UK research environment, especially clinical.
  • Demonstrable ability to analyze and summarize complex issues in research funding.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills, a collegial, and customer-focused approach to the delivery of services.
