Job Title: Clinical Fellow with focus on Clinical Trials

Job Type: Fixed Term, Full-time (40 hours per week)

Department: Oncology Department, Acute Hospital Services

Location: Western General Hospital, NHS Lothian

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Fellow to join our team in the Oncology Department. The successful candidate will work closely with our cancer research team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of cancer malignancies within a clinical trial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care to patients participating in clinical trials, with a focus on Early Phase Trials, especially Phase I.
  • Work collaboratively with the cancer research team to design and implement clinical trials.
  • Contribute to the development of new research protocols and study designs.
  • Participate in the training and education of junior staff and students.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Completion of a recognized clinical fellowship program in oncology.
  • Experience in clinical trials research and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
