About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse to join our team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Nurse Leader for Apheresis. As a key member of our Apheresis team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the overall management of the Apheresis service, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and effective patient care.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care plans, ensuring patients receive safe, individualized, and holistic care.
  • Act as a resource for members of the Apheresis team, patients, carers, and the multi-professional team, providing education and support as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing 24/7 coverage and ensuring continuity of care.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Chemotherapy competence.
  • Mentorship and teaching qualifications.
  • Relevant post-registration experience in Apheresis, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-level qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Teaching and assessing qualifications.
  • Experience in Apheresis settings, with a strong understanding of the clinical specialty.
Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and the multi-professional team.
  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing care within the clinical area (haemato/oncology).
  • Knowledge of care of the Apheresis patient, with a strong understanding of the clinical specialty.
