Job Summary:As a Clinical Leadership Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse for Safer Staffing and Roster Manager to develop and implement self-rostering initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Workforce Management:
- Support the monitoring and review of nursing and midwifery workforce metrics to inform data-driven decision making.
- Report on performance and institute remedial action where necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Clinical Governance:
- Collaborate with the Lead Nurse for Safer Staffing to deliver National Quality Board (NQB) standards related to the Care Quality Commission's (CQC) regulation 18.
- Support the Integrated Care System (ICS) nursing and midwifery teams, the Chief Nurse, and Deputy Chief Nurse in achieving these standards.
- Leadership and Communication:
- Deputise for the Lead Nurse for Safer Staffing and Roster Utilisation matters as required, providing leadership and guidance to staff.
- Maintain effective communication links with staff groups and other divisional or departmental teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Clinical and Professional Development:
- Monitor the RAG rating of staffing levels on SafeCare and ensure it reflects professional judgement accurately, making recommendations for change where necessary.
- Support the development of staff through clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
- Personal and Professional Development:
- Identify personal development needs with the safer staffing lead nurse and complete a personal development plan to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Participate in regular one-to-one meetings, clinical supervision, and act as a clinical supervisor as required, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
