Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Services Supervisor to join our team at NBT Bancorp Inc. This role will be responsible for overseeing the HR Shared Services Department, ensuring efficient and quality assistance to all service requests, and providing HRIS technical support to HR Partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Shared Services operation, including development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Manage the corporate payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payments to all employees within established laws and procedures.
  • Direct the HR Shared Services staff for daily questions on Employee Relations, Benefits, Retirement, and Employment processes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to improve staff performance and capabilities and identify training needs.
  • System administrator for Workday.
  • Work with other areas of Human Resources to ensure self-service functionality is available and appropriate to streamline processes for Human Resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows products, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Payroll systems and processes, Human Resource Information System, and/or Database Management Software.
  • Project management, analytical skills, payroll, benefits, and HRIS acumen.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work well across teams.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State Wage & Labor Laws.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll withholding/taxation requirements and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM Certification or other HR Certification preferred.
  • CPP Designation preferred.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a stationary environment for 75% of the time or greater and to move objects up to 10 lbs.
